 School-Based Services

How do we empower our students to have the positive self-esteem necessary to endure the challenges kids face in today’s complicated world? Challenges that when overlooked and left unaddressed can lead to serious mental health issues.

How do we help students build strategies to cope more effectively with anxiety, stress, sadness or anger?

How do we teach students skills to get along with their peers and learn to communicate and interact with adults more effectively?

This is where Eastway’s Outreach Services can help. We are mental health professionals in our community’s schools, focused not just on treating students struggling with mental health issues but preventing them as well. Because our licensed counselors, social workers and therapists work in the schools, we are uniquely positioned to be proactive and incorporate prevention programming, so we don’t have more people developing mental health problems down the road.

In partnership with our schools, we provide emotional and behavioral supports to children and adolescents as soon as a problem arises, thereby improving behavior in both the classroom and at home.

Our school-based outreach services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, utilizing a combination of the following:

  • Diagnostic assessment

  • Counseling/therapy

  • Case management

  • Consultation with school staff

  • Family therapy

Our school-based therapists can help with:

  • Concentration and attention problems

  • Impulsivity and hyperactivity

  • Anger management problems

  • Depression, anxiety and or mood swings

  • Difficulties coping with trauma, bullying, separation or loss and/or other dramatic life changes
